Cinderella Wedding Inspiration

I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume you are all well aware that Disney is releasing their live action version of Cinderella this Friday.  And I’m going to assume that you are as stoked for it as I am.  Because all I have heard are amazing things about it, especially when it comes to the costumes and other design elements of the film.  So what better source to pull from for wedding inspiration than a gorgeous fairy tale?  I used Cinderella to put together this dreamy wedding inspiration board and I am so loving how it all came together.  Sorta makes me want to get married all over again!

Here is the completed board:

And the breakdown (click pic for original source):

The bridesmaid dresses: Butterflies decorate the top of Cinderella’s ball gown in the film, so what better way to show off your lovely ladies than in this butterfly printed dress?

The shoes: I mean, come on.  These Jimmy Choos were designed specifically based on Cinderella and they are pretty freakin fabulous.

The wedding gown: Obviously blue is not the traditional wedding gown color, but who needs tradition? This blue tulle stunner is the perfect Cinderella gown.

The ceremony site: An enchanted garden is the perfect place for a princess to wed her prince.

The reception: Gold, blue and purple combine to make one stunning and royal looking table.

The cake: Sticking with the reception color scheme, this cake exudes fairy tale glamour.

The photo op: No Cinderella wedding would be complete without this epic shot of the bride and her lost shoe.

The ring: This gorgeous ring evokes an image of the princess’s golden carriage.

Anyone else now want to go back and have a wedding do over?  Check back next week for my review of Cinderella, plus my recap of seeing the film at the famous El Capitan theater in Hollywood!

Tips for Taking Your Engagement Pictures at Disneyland

You have already seen my Toon Town engagement pictures, and it can be tricky to get good shots inside the park, so today I thought I would share some tips with you for taking great pictures at Disneyland!

1.  Get there early.  This is number one because I think it is the most important!  For our engagement pics, we got to the park before Toon Town opened so that we were some of the first ones in.  This made it so much easier to get the shots we wanted because there were fewer people around.  Also, there is great light in the morning, which will make it easier for your photographer to capture great shots.

2.  Hire a photographer who knows the park.  Try to find someone who has done photo shoots at Disneyland before, or at least someone who is familiar with the park layout and locations.  If they have experience shooting at Disneyland, they will likely know the best spots and how to work with some of the challenges presented when shooting at a theme park.

3.  Be patient.  Chances are you will have to wait for people to move out of your shot at some point.  Disneyland is a public place (and typically a crowded one) and people are going to be there no matter what time of day you are shooting.  Just be patient and you will eventually get the picture you want.

4.  Be polite.  Along with being patient, make sure you are being polite.  People are much more likely to get out of your way if you ask nicely.  Also be nice to any cast members you may encounter along the way.  Not only is it their job to make sure the park is running smoothly, but typically if you are nice to them, they can hook you up with some perks! (Or at the very least, some Just Engaged buttons.)

5.  Have fun!  If you are doing your engagement photos at Disneyland, I’m assuming you are fun people, but it can be easy to get caught up in the stress of the wedding hoopla and you don’t want that to show in your pictures.  Try to relax, enjoy your surroundings, and most of all, have fun with your future spouse!

Adorable Disneyland Proposal

I have mentioned before how I would have loved to have had a Disney wedding if it weren’t for the whole money and taking the husband into consideration deal.  I have managed to convince said husband that at some point in the future, a Disneyland vow renewal might be an option.  So the other day I was trolling their site browsing all the info possible about said vow renewals.  And then I searched You Tube for Disney vow renewals.  And then on the side a bunch of Disney proposal videos popped up.  And then I couldn’t help but click.  And then I cried.  This one was by far my favorite.  Make sure you have some tissues handy and enjoy!

The rest of the week will be way less emotional, promise!!!

Frozen Wedding Inspiration

My love for all things Disney had to be reigned in on my wedding day.  If I had unlimited funds (and a husband with an equal love for the magic), I would have gotten married in the park and had a true Disney inspired wedding.  Alas, that was not to be the case for me, so now I live vicariously through those who get to incorporate Disney into their celebrations.  Since I just saw Frozen for the first time since seeing it in the theater, I thought I would put together some Frozen wedding inspiration for you!  (Click pic for original source, all pics via Pinterest.)

Toon Town Engagement Pictures

Given that the hubs and I are going to be celebrating our third wedding anniversary this week, I thought it fitting to share our Toon Town engagement pictures.  We went through a huge debacle trying to get this shoot set up.  We ended up borrowing a camera from the yearbook department at the school I was working at and having my best friend shoot the pictures for us.  Not professional by any means, but I still love how they turned out.  I hope you like them as much as I do!

If you are looking for a fun and light-hearted place for your engagement pictures, you can’t beat Toon Town!  Happy anniversary to my darling husband, thank you for always putting up with my Disney obsession!
