Pretty much every year when fall rolls around, I start to fantasize about moving to the East Coast. Winter comes and I change that opinion pretty quickly, but for a couple of months, I dream about leaves that actually change color, football games that actually require a jacket, and pumpkin spice lattes that are hot, not iced. The truth is that I love fall, but since I live in Los Angeles, I rarely get to experience it. We are lucky to maybe get a couple of weeks of real fall weather, and I look forward to those few weeks all year long! And one of my favorite parts of fall is the fashion. I live for sweaters and scarves and boots, and I start planning my fall wardrobe in July. Luckily, since our winters are pretty mild, I get to stretch most of my fall fashion finds into my winter wardrobe, so that’s one plus (also, no snow shoveling). These are just some of the items I am coveting for my fall closet!
Scarves are one of my favorite fall fashion accessories, and this season I am all about the plaid. Nothing says fall to me like plaid, and I love the blanket style of these scarves. (Click here for the top scarf and click here for the bottom scarf.)
One of the bonuses of mild weather is that I can still wear dresses, even in the fall and winter months. I love long sleeve dresses like this one because they are so versatile. You can pair it with boots, wool tights, or leggings. You can add a scarf (see above!) or a cardigan or jacket to the top for extra warmth. The whole look is put together, but still super comfy and cozy, which is really my main goal with fall fashion. Plus, this particular dress comes in a bunch of different fall colors.
I LOVE SWEATERS!!!! Nothing says cozy and warm like a sweater. I want them all. I love how this particular sweater looks so soft and comfy, but is still stylish enough to look chic. You could pair this with jeans, trousers, or leggings and be good to go.
You can’t have a fall fashion round up without boots. I am a big fan of tall brown riding boots. I feel like I buy a new pair every year and I love them all.
As much as I love my tall boots, I am determined this year to try to find the perfect pair of booties. I feel like I’m going to be pushing myself out of my fall fashion boot boundaries with these, but I think that’s a good thing. I love the buckles on this pair!
And of course, you gotta have an awesome bag! I don’t know what it is about fall and brown leather, but this bag screams fall fashion to me. I love the color and the shape, and I love that this is big enough for me to fit all of my mom stuff, while still looking cute.
Are you lucky enough to experience real fall where you live? What are your favorite things to wear during the fall months?
