Front Door Transformation

Transformations have been happening in our new house basically since the moment we moved in.  As soon as we decided to paint the entire exterior of the home, I knew I wanted a front door with some pizzazz.  I went through a couple of different color options (the hubs ruled out pink, sadly) and in the end settled on a fun color that adds the perfect pop!  Then we dressed up the door with some colorful accents and now it is a welcoming front door that I love coming home to each day.  Here is what the front door looked like before…

…and here it is now!  The house is a light gray and the door an aqua blue.

I have had six of these metal chairs for years now (another hand me down from Mom).  They used to be white, but I spray painted them in a variety of bright colors (the other five now live in the dining room).  I found this outdoor pillow in the clearance section at Target.  I love that it brings in both the blue from the door and the yellow from the chair.

This welcome mat was also found in the clearance section of Target.  I like that it incorporates all of the colors, but isn’t flowery.  I love the juxtaposition of stripes and flowers together.

Here it is one more time all together!

What do you think of the brightly colored front door trend?  Have you painted your door?
