Pressed pennies are one of my favorite (and by far cheapest) souvenirs from Disneyland. They are fun to collect, plus there are lots of cool crafts you can make with them (like jewelry!). Disneyland has released some new pennies for the 60th and I am planning on collecting all of them, which means each time I am going to the parks I am carrying around a Ziploc bag full of pennies and quarters. Not exactly cute or convenient, so I decided to make some special containers to hold my pressed penny supplies! I made two different containers, one traditional and one blingy, especially for the 60th. These are so easy to make and would be a great craft to do with the kiddies before a Disney vacation! Here’s what to do!
1. Gather supplies: Mini M & M containers and Disney themed stickers.
2. Peel the labels off the tubes and wash away any excess stickiness. Steel wool works well to get off the remaining gunk.
3. Decorate tubes with your stickers.
And that’s it! I love that I can easily throw the container into whatever bag I am going to take to the park. I stacked the coins in the tube so there are two quarters and a penny in a row so all I have to do is dump out the first three coins and I am ready to make some souvenirs! Have you collected pressed pennies from the parks? What’s your favorite thing to do with them?
