Disneyland Annual Passholders (APs) were recently invited to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Indiana Jones ride (let’s not talk about how old that makes me, I clearly remember the ride opening). I obviously needed some Indiana Jones themed ears to wear to the event so I set to crafting and here’s what I came up with!
First, gather your supplies: brown craft foam, a headband, brown ribbon, burlap ribbon, a gold button, leather cording, an ear template, scissors, and a hot glue gun.
Trace two of the ear templates onto your foam and cut them out.
Put a dab of hot glue on one end of the headband and attach the brown ribbon. Wrap the ribbon around the headband until it is covered and use another dab of glue to secure the tail end.
Place the ears and mark on the headband where you want them to be. Then use your hot glue to attach them to the headband.
Attach the leather cording to the outside of the ears. Start at the outside end and work in small increments toward the middle of the headband. Tuck the ends inside the gap between the foam and the headband.
Make a bow out of the burlap ribbon.
Hot glue the gold button to the center of the bow.
Attach the bow to the center of the headband.
And now you have custom Indiana Jones ears!
We had a lot of fun at the Indy AP event, I will report back to you with all the details soon!
