Walt Disney Family Museum Tour Part One

Several months ago, the husband and I traveled to one of our favorite cities, San Francisco.  We drive up north two or three times a year, but we had never taken the time to go to the Walt Disney Family Museum.  I decided it was time for that to change.  Neither of us really knew what to expect, but I am so glad we went.  If you are in the San Francisco area and a Disney fan, this museum is a must see.  There was so much cool stuff in there, it’s going to take two blog posts to show you all the highlights.  Here’s part one:

In the first room, all of Disney’s awards are displayed…

This is a model of the apartment that is in Disneyland, above the fire station on Main Street…

The first few rooms of the museum take you through the early years of Walt’s life and career…

This activity station let you put the sound to a short cartoon clip.  Mr. B had fun with this one!

I loved this map of Walt’s Los Angeles because it shows some cool spots that are close to our house.

Shirley Temple was one of my faves as a kid, so this pic is two of my all time favorite people!

I love that Disney created some pretty risque images during the war for the service men.  Not what you would expect!

The electronic interactive displays are pretty incredible…

And that takes us through Part One!  Check back soon for Part Two, which contains my absolute favorite part of the museum!
